The mental well being of truck drivers remains one among my biggest considerations. Ten years ago, I first wrote about what I assumed was a monster difficulty hiding simply beneath the surface of daily Trucking blogs life. "Hiding" was the important thing phrase there, and it nonetheless is. Are we making progress? Yes, but there’s far more to do. I’ve written about this a number of times since, including a dialogue of Seasonal Affective Disorder (Sad). And I’d wager my next paycheque that it’s hardly identified at all, though I believe it’s universally acknowledged. If that looks like a contradiction… Sad, you see, is what we usually dismiss as the simple winter blues. I get them, you get them, just about everyone in Canada does.
